Self-help tool: What to do with repeated negative thoughts?

Writer's picture: PhuongPhuong

How many of us have negative thoughts throughout the day? How many negative thoughts per day? One thousand or more or...less? Like "oh, I'm a loser", or "I'm not good enough", or "I'm stupid", or "I'm an idiot" or "I'm stuck. This is so hard", and so on... How many of us recognized that we probably have learned those thought patterns from our authority figures like parents, grandparents, teachers. etc...

If you learned all that from someone else, you can unlearn it. If you create something or a bunch of things you don't like in your life, you have that much power to create all of that, then you have that much power to uncreate them all and choose something different that would work for you. The power to choose lies in you. The more we make them solid, real and true, the more we get stuck with those thoughts. Are you wrong for having those thoughts? No, you are NEVER ever wrong for having them. It's ok to have them. All it takes is acknowledging them without judgment, then choose another thought that would work for you. One thought at a time. The great news is that you have the power to choose. You get to choose whatever thought you'd like. And the more you do it, the more you'll see the change over time. It is a process. This is one of the self-help ways to change any thought patterns. One step at a time. You got this.
